Resilience Profile Test

Resilience varies widely between individuals—not just in degree, but in approach. Dr. Kathryn Connor and Dr. Jonathan Davidson, pioneers in resilience research, developed the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (2003), which identified key aspects of psychological resilience. This test explores how you approach resilience based on established psychological research. The test is rooted in Connor and Davidson’s (2003) model of resilience (adaptability, optimism, self-efficacy, social support reliance, perseverance) and supplemented with modern resilience research from Ann Masten (2001) and Luthar (2006) for coping mechanisms and emotional regulation.

How do you express resilience? For each of the following questions, indicate how well it applies to you below.

The IDRlabs Resilience Profile Test (IDR-RPT) was developed by IDRlabs. The IDR-RPT is based on the work of Dr. Kathryn Connor, M.D., and Dr. Jonathan Davidson, M.D., who researched resilience and developed models of psychological resilience, as well as other researchers in the field. The IDR-RPT is not associated with any specific researchers in resilience studies or affiliated research institutions.

The IDRlabs Resilience Profile Test was informed by Connor and Davidson’s work as published in Connor, K. M., & Davidson, J. R. (2003). Development of a new resilience scale: The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), adapted here to assess individual resilience styles across five distinct scales.

The work of Connor and Davidson identified key components of resilience, such as adaptability, optimism, and perseverance. It has been adapted here to inform the diagnostic criteria of this Resilience Profile Test by exploring how these traits manifest in personal tendencies. The present test is intended for educational purposes only. IDRlabs and the present IDRlabs Resilience Profile Test are independent of the above researchers, organizations, or their affiliated institutions.
