Chud: Originally a horror movie term, “Chud” has evolved into a slang label for those who reject modern progressive values, often embracing a reactionary, anti-woke stance. Chuds typically criticize political correctness, identity politics, and what they see as excessive social justice activism. They value tradition, free speech, and skepticism toward cultural change, sometimes expressing frustration with what they consider “cancel culture” or ideological overreach. The term is often used both humorously and pejoratively in online culture wars.

Woke: “Woke” began as a term meaning heightened awareness of social injustices, especially related to race, gender, and inequality. Today, it broadly describes those committed to progressive activism, equity, and systemic change. Wokes advocate for inclusion, diversity, and accountability, aiming to dismantle oppressive structures. Critics sometimes portray wokeness as overly sensitive or censorious, but supporters see it as a necessary push for fairness and recognition of marginalized voices in society and culture.
