Ultimately, she represents the struggle to reconcile one's youthful, messy passions with the demands of a responsible, professional life.

Ritsu Tainaka

Ritsu Tainaka is the impulsive, tomboyish instigator who serves as the self-appointed president of the Light Music Club. Her restless energy, sarcasm, and penchant for mischief keep the band moving, though her chronic irresponsibility often lands the group in hot water. She frequently forgets paperwork and deadlines, relying on her friends to bail her out of trouble. Despite her chaotic exterior, she possesses a deep, hidden loyalty and will go to great lengths to protect those she cares about. She masks her insecurities with humor and bravado, using her role as the life of the band to keep everyone connected and engaged.

Azusa Nakano

Azusa Nakano is the serious junior and emotional anchor of the Light Music Club who balances high standards with a growing capacity for affection. She is a talented rhythm guitarist who initially struggles with the band’s lack of discipline and tendency to prioritize tea over practice. Her core contradiction lies in her desire for professional musical rigor clashing with her deep, quiet need for the group’s chaotic warmth. She is methodical and responsible, often acting as the voice of reason, yet she remains vulnerable to the pain of being left behind. Yui Hirasawa

Yui Hirasawa is a sunny, airheaded lead guitarist whose scatterbrained charm hides a startling capacity for focus when she cares about something. She joins the Light Music Club with zero experience, often acting lazy or perpetually close to failing exams, yet she achieves rapid musical improvement once she locks in. She hates discomfort and loves sweets, which serve as her primary power source. In contrast to many performers, she possesses no stage fright and remains genuinely optimistic about others. While she defaults to avoidance during conflict, she is fiercely diligent when her friends or the band’s music are at stake.

Mio Akiyama

Mio Akiyama is the anxious, earnest straight man of the group: a shy, sensitive left-handed bassist, lyricist, and secondary vocalist who functions as both the emotional core and the voice of reason. She is kind and deeply attuned to others’ feelings, yet she is easily embarrassed, vulnerable to teasing, and terrified of the spotlight. Despite this timidity, she is academically strong and the most responsible member, often stepping in when her friends are in trouble. Ui Hirasawa

Ui Hirasawa is the quietly competent younger sister who serves as the emotional and practical anchor of her household. While her older sister Yui is scatterbrained and impulsive, Ui is remarkably mature, diligent, and self-effacing. She manages domestic responsibilities with ease, often acting as a nurse, cook, and housekeeper to ensure everything runs smoothly. Her core motivation is the happiness and stability of her loved ones, leading her to prioritize their needs over her own.
