The Legend of Korra Test is inspired by psychometric methodology and based on research into the characters of the animated series. The test provides feedback such as the following:

Korra

Korra is a fierce, headstrong Avatar who begins as a physically gifted bruiser and learns, painfully, to become a more compassionate, spiritually grounded protector of balance. She is introduced as an extroverted, stubborn teenager from the Southern Water Tribe who loves bending, rushes into fights, and assumes problems can be solved by force. Her defining traits are impulsive courage, emotional intensity, and deep loyalty. Beneath that bravado sits a fragile sense of worth tied to her status. She must learn that vulnerability can coexist with strength, and that listening and empathy can be more transformative than domination in a rapidly changing world.

Zaheer

Zaheer is the philosophical anarchist who leads the Red Lotus with a calm, spiritual demeanor that masks an uncompromising belief that true freedom requires destroying all rulers, borders, and the Avatar. Originally a nonbender, he gains airbending after Harmonic Convergence and uses his newfound power to assassinate leaders and pursue his vision of a world without hierarchies. He is articulate and charming, capable of debating complex political ideas while remaining detached from individual lives. Though his fanaticism causes immense suffering, he later demonstrates self-awareness by helping Korra confront her trauma, acknowledging that his pursuit of absolute freedom inadvertently paved the way for tyranny.

Tenzin

Tenzin is the weight-of-the-world mentor and the last airbending master at the series’ start, torn between preserving his father’s legacy and finding his own way as a leader, father, and teacher. He is calm, stern, and deeply traditional, living on Air Temple Island while carrying the responsibility for reviving an almost-extinct culture. His signature traits are duty and principled pacifism, paired with stubbornness and insecurity. He initially clashes with Korra’s impatience, fearing he is merely an inadequate echo of Aang. Only by confronting these doubts does he claim his own identity, accepting that he can honor his father without replicating him.

Bolin

Bolin is the warmhearted, goofy everyman: an enthusiastic earthbender who starts as comic relief and gradually proves himself a brave, idealistic hero in his own right. Growing up on the streets alongside Mako, he retains a fundamentally sunny, people-oriented disposition, delighted by festivals, celebrity, and friendships. He joins pro-bending for fun and belonging as much as for survival. His key traits are optimism, sociability, and loyalty, alongside naivete and insecurity. He cracks jokes and falls into crushes easily, but he also doubts his own worth. Beneath the clowning is a strong desire to help people and to feel useful.

Mako

Mako is a serious, guarded protector archetype: a street-hardened firebender who grows from a resentful orphan into a principled detective, constantly torn between duty and his tangled emotions. Orphaned at eight, he raised his younger brother on the streets of Republic City, doing whatever it took to survive. His defining traits are stoic responsibility, pragmatic caution, and fierce protectiveness. Underneath his aloof exterior, Mako is haunted by his past and terrified of losing those he loves. He struggles to articulate his feelings, often sabotaging his own relationships. He resonates with those who grew up too fast and manage anxiety through control and planning.

Amon

Amon is the masked revolutionary: a traumatized waterbender who reinvents himself as a nonbender messiah dedicated to equality by stripping benders of their powers. Raised by a notorious crime boss, he and his brother were forced into brutal training, warping his early protective nature into something cold, detached, and fanatical. He is defined by charisma, ideological conviction, and ruthless strategic thinking. He presents as calm and spiritually chosen, claiming the spirits granted him the power to remove bending to correct injustice. Beneath the mask, he despises benders yet is one himself, using bloodbending to simulate spiritual energybending and fabricating a tragic backstory to inspire sympathy.

Kuvira

Kuvira is the iron-willed unifier: an abandoned child turned master metalbender and general who believes only she can restore order to a fractured Earth Kingdom, sliding from savior to authoritarian dictator. Taken in by Suyin Beifong and raised in the utopian metal city Zaofu, she becomes a model of discipline and loyalty before leaving to stabilize the chaos after the Earth Queen’s assassination. Her defining traits are efficiency, control, and an intense sense of responsibility. She projects confidence and bravery, yet her fear of disorder curdles into authoritarianism. She will sacrifice anyone, including those she loves, to secure her vision of a unified, protected nation.

Asami Sato

Asami Sato is a poised, quietly driven strategist who serves as the technical and moral backbone of Team Avatar. As the daughter of a wealthy industrialist, she balances immense privilege with a grounded, hardworking nature and a brilliance for engineering. Her defining contradiction lies in her ability to remain compassionate and trusting despite experiencing profound betrayal from her own father and romantic partners. She rejects the path of vengeance, choosing instead to use her resources to rebuild infrastructure and foster peace. Asami is a loyal ally who meets life’s challenges with calm analysis, quiet resilience, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right.
