The Carrie Test is inspired by psychometric methodology and based on research into the characters of the TV series. The test provides feedback such as the following:
Sue Snell
Although you were never the ringleader, you have been close enough to the center of things to know exactly how cruelty works. Your conscience may arrive fashionably late, but once it does, you are willing to do the unglamorous work of making amends: speaking up to old friends, standing beside the people they mocked, and asking someone you love for a very large favor. Popularity, you have discovered, matters less than you once thought. However, doing the right thing has a way of costing you friendships, and a clear conscience can be lonely company. In the end, you would rather be on the right side of the story than the popular one.
Margaret White
Buzzing with conviction, you are the kind of person who sees moral danger where others see a perfectly ordinary school dance. You keep a close eye on everyone in your household, and you are never shy about sharing your concerns with the wider community, online or off. Your home runs on routine, scripture, and a firm sense of what is and is not appropriate to wear. On the flip side, your vigilance can tip into control, and the people you love most may start counting the days until they can leave. All the same, there is no doubting that every rule you have ever set was made out of fear for them.
Chris Hargensen
Like many born leaders, you have a gift for making things happen, especially things that end up on everyone's phone by lunchtime. You are sharp-witted, socially fearless, and well aware that having the right parents is half the battle. Your friends tend to do as you say, and you rarely need to ask twice. However, you take slights very personally, and your sense of proportion has been known to desert you entirely when someone embarrasses you. Responsibility is something you much prefer to delegate. All the same, few people can light up a room, or a group chat, quite like you can.
Tommy Ross
While you could easily coast on your good looks and your talent for sport, you have never been much interested in being cool at someone else's expense. You talk to the quiet kids as easily as you talk to the team, and you rarely notice the social rules you are breaking by doing so. When you make a promise, especially to a girlfriend, you keep it, even if your friends think you have lost your mind. On the flip side, you assume that a little decency can fix almost anything, and the world does not always share your optimism. Even so, every evening is better for your being in it.
Carrie White
Perhaps due to a rather sheltered upbringing, you have had to teach yourself most of what other people seem to have been born knowing, from the unwritten rules of the cafeteria to the acceptable length of a skirt. You are a diligent researcher, and when something strange starts happening to you, your first instinct is to read everything you can find about it. Your feelings are another matter: you keep them bottled up for so long that, when they finally come out, they tend to rearrange the furniture. Even so, few people are as quietly hopeful as you are, or as grateful for a single kind word.
Miss Desjardin
Like any good coach, you believe in fresh air, fair play, and the occasional hard truth delivered at full volume. You notice the student who is struggling at the back of the line, and you do something about it rather than filling in a form. Administrators find you exhausting, and you have found them exhausting for considerably longer. However, your instinct to step in can leave you blaming yourself for every outcome you could not prevent, and the weight of that sometimes shows. Even so, students tend to remember you years later as the one adult who took them seriously.
Billy Nolan
Far from being the boy your parents warned you about, you are the boy everybody else's parents warned them about, and you seem to rather enjoy the distinction. You are fearless around engines and livestock alike, and you do not take orders from teachers, police officers, or anyone else who has not earned your respect. Once you are attached to someone, you are attached completely. However, your loyalty can look a great deal like possessiveness, and your solution to most problems involves raising the stakes rather than lowering your voice. All the same, the people you ride with know you would never leave them stranded.
