Kim Dan

He defaults to avoidance and appeasement in conflict, often sacrificing his own well-being to keep the peace or meet the demands of those in power. Beneath his quiet exterior lies a steady resilience and a capacity for moral judgment. He slowly learns to assert small boundaries, proving that his desire to help others remains his most enduring and defining strength.

Jeong Yosep

Jeong Yosep is the gym's eldest fighter and a former national champion who serves as the steady anchor of Team Black. As Jaekyung's chief sparring partner, he is one of the very few entirely unafraid of the champion's temper, a composure that earns him rare respect. While others may be intimidated by displays of aggression, he maintains a grounded perspective, prioritizing team stability and strategic growth over personal glory. A man of few words, he shows his care through actions rather than talk, mentoring the younger fighters without needing the spotlight. His presence provides a necessary sense of order, reflecting a life built on discipline, reliability, and selfless stewardship.

Joo Jaekyung

Joo Jaekyung is a brutal, hyper-confident MMA champion who treats victory as his birthright and others as mere tools to maintain his legend. He commands respect through raw physical presence and merciless aggression, often bulldozing authority figures and social norms to get his way. Beneath his intimidating, tattooed armor lies a deep-seated reliance on superstition, revealing a man who fears the loss of control above all else. While he initially views people through a lens of dominance and utility, he slowly begins to show flashes of genuine attachment. He is a tyrant learning the weight of vulnerability and the complexity of human connection.

Park Namwook

Park Namwook is the pragmatic manager of Team Black and a steadying influence in a volatile environment. He balances the high-stakes demands of a professional MMA gym with the delicate task of handling a star fighter who lacks social boundaries. A dedicated family man, he brings a sense of normalcy and warmth to his workplace, often acting as a mediator between his athletes and the outside world. He prioritizes team cohesion and stability, using his observant nature to nudge others toward better outcomes. He favors quiet diplomacy over confrontation, but he has a firm backbone when it counts, willing to check even his volatile star outright when a real line is crossed to keep the operation and its people intact.

Hwang Yoon-gu

Hwang Yoon-gu is the scrappy, eager rookie of Team Black whose youthful energy and fierce loyalty make him the heart of the gym. As the youngest member, he often struggles with being dismissed as a mascot or a child, a frustration that fuels his intense drive to prove his worth through grueling training. He is deeply devoted to his teammates and idolizes his superiors, often reacting with hot-headed defensiveness when he feels they are being disrespected. While he masks his insecurity with bravado, he is genuinely elated by encouragement and thrives on the camaraderie of his found family, always eager to belong.
