She is a survivor trapped by her own nostalgia.

Dorian "Zib" Zibowski

Dorian "Zib" Zibowski is the sardonic jazz musician who serves as the weary, cynical heart of the Lackadaisy band. As a saxophonist and unofficial middle manager, he navigates the speakeasy’s slow decline with a mixture of dry wit and heavy substance use. He relies on irony to maintain distance from his own emotions, often observing the chaos around him rather than actively participating in the dangerous schemes of his peers. While he projects an air of detached indifference, he harbors a deep, unspoken protectiveness toward the younger members of the crew. He is a man trapped by his own history, finding his only true solace in the performance of music.

Rocky Rickaby

Rocky Rickaby is a manic, theatrical rum-runner and jazz violinist who treats the criminal underworld like a high-stakes stage play. He is defined by his reckless improvisation and a relentless, performative cheerfulness that persists even when he is surrounded by danger. Beneath this clownish bravado lies a deeply lonely individual who struggles with abandonment and a history of instability. He masks his pain with chaotic stunts and humor, desperately seeking a sense of belonging within the Lackadaisy family. While he is often the first to escalate a situation, his loyalty is absolute, and he consistently risks his own safety to prove his worth.

Viktor Vasko

Viktor Vasko is the grizzled war-veteran bruiser who serves as the surly, protective backbone of the Lackadaisy speakeasy. Once a lethal triggerman for Atlas May, he now navigates life as a bartender with failing knees and a cynical outlook on the world. He is defined by a deep, unwavering loyalty to his found family, even as he views himself as a monster shaped by past violence. While he projects a cold, intimidating exterior to keep others at a distance, he possesses a hidden, tender capacity for guardianship. He struggles to reconcile his desire for peace with the harsh, criminal reality he cannot seem to escape.

Calvin "Freckle" McMurray

Calvin "Freckle" McMurray is the anxious boy-next-door whose shy demeanor hides a startling capacity for violence. He is a bundle of nerves and lingering uncertainty, often feeling overwhelmed by the expectations of those around him. While he longs to be a dutiful, law-abiding citizen, he finds himself repeatedly drawn into the dangerous criminal world of his cousin, Rocky. Ivy Pepper

Ivy Pepper is the spirited ingénue and chaos sprite of the Lackadaisy crew. As a college student and café cashier, she is an enthusiastic hanger-on who constantly elbows her way into the dangerous world of bootlegging. She is defined by her energetic, feisty, and tomboyish nature, often acting with a saucy confidence that masks her relative inexperience. While she romanticizes the excitement of the speakeasy, she is also surprisingly resourceful and protective, frequently taking charge during crises. Her main contradiction lies in her desire to be taken seriously as an adult while still navigating a world that she only half understands.

Mordecai Heller

Mordecai Heller is the hyper-competent, tuxedo-furred accountant and triggerman who prioritizes order above all else. Formerly the golden boy of the Lackadaisy crew, he now operates with cold, clinical precision for the rival Marigold gang. He is defined by a rigid adherence to his own moral code and an obsessive need for cleanliness, symmetry, and predictability in an inherently chaotic world. While he presents a stoic and detached exterior, his internal life is marked by unresolved grief and a deep-seated desire for integrity. He views violence as a necessary task to be executed perfectly, often masking his own profound loneliness and dangerous impulses behind a veil of meticulous control.
