While he presents himself as a carefree philosopher, his life is a cycle of addiction and betrayal that forces his children into premature independence. Fiona Gallagher

Fiona Gallagher is the resilient, overburdened eldest sibling who assumes the role of legal guardian for her family after their mother leaves and their father proves useless. She is the archetypal survivalist, defined by her fierce protectiveness, work ethic, and ability to keep the household running despite constant poverty.
