She is driven by a fierce, uncompromising desire for freedom and recognition, yet she is trapped in a cycle where others constantly define her as a world-ending threat. She can be a vulnerable damsel, a calculating strategist, or a terrifying force of nature depending on how she is treated. She resents her chains and will use manipulation, violence, or sweet devotion to escape them. Ultimately, she seeks a genuine connection but is forced to navigate relationships through the distorting lens of survival.

The Shifting Mound

The Shifting Mound is a cosmic, formless entity that embodies the inevitability of change, growth, and transformation. She acts as a vast canvas of unformed potential, constantly absorbing, recombining, and reflecting the choices and relationships of those around her. While she seeks to assimilate experiences to grow whole, her fluid nature makes her inherently unstable and difficult to pin down. She does not argue or force her will through raw authority; instead, she forces others to confront how their past actions have reshaped their shared reality. She represents the beauty of constant reinvention, even when that change brings pain and the end of familiar things.

The Hero

The Hero is an uncertain protagonist who constantly questions the demands of authority while trying to find his own path. He struggles with a deeply fractured inner life, often feeling pulled in different directions by competing voices that represent his conflicting instincts of romantic idealism, cold logic, and self-preserving paranoia. Though he craves stability, he is drawn to change and must decide whether to accept the roles written for him or rewrite his own story. The Witch

The Witch is a guarded survivor who meets the threat of betrayal by striking first. Born from broken trust and a deep-seated fear of vulnerability, she uses her sharp wit, sarcasm, and quiet cunning to keep others at a safe distance. She constantly tests the motives of those around her, anticipating rejection and preparing her escape before anyone can hurt her again. The Narrator

The Narrator is a meticulous and controlling guide who insists on absolute adherence to his rules to prevent a cosmic catastrophe. His main contradiction lies in his claim of objective wisdom while being entirely blinded by his own fear of vulnerability. He struggles to cooperate as an equal, preferring to lecture rather than listen, and he grows highly impatient when his authority is questioned. He represents the rigid inner voice that over-plans and catastrophizes to avoid facing the unpredictable nature of life.
