The Toradora! Test is inspired by psychometric methodology and based on research into the characters of the anime series. The test provides feedback such as the following:

Taiga Aisaka

Ryuuji Takasu

Ryuuji Takasu is a gentle, deeply responsible high school student who is widely feared because of his naturally intimidating, delinquent-like glare. Behind this scary exterior lies an incredibly nurturing caretaker who is obsessed with cooking, cleaning, and organizing. He copes with stress by scrubbing floors and managing the lives of those around him. While he selflessly protects others and takes on their burdens, he struggles to recognize and voice his own emotional needs. He easily falls into the role of an overfunctioning helper, neglecting his own future to keep everyone else happy. He must learn that he deserves the same quiet care he so freely gives to others.

Yasuko Takasu

Yasuko Takasu is the well-meaning but deeply flawed mother of Ryuuji. She often acts like a childish teenager at home, leaving the cooking and cleaning to her teenage son while she sleeps off her late-night shifts. Underneath this immature exterior lies a fiercely devoted parent who works exhausting hours at a hostess bar to provide for her family. She carries immense guilt over her past mistakes and her estrangement from her parents. To protect her son, she forbids him from working, accidentally putting her own health at risk through overwork. She hides her pain behind a bubbly facade but eventually learns to face her family history.

Ami Kawashima

Ami Kawashima is a glamorous teen model who presents a sweet, helpless facade to manipulate her classmates and secure their admiration. Beneath this bubbly mask lies a highly perceptive, sharp-tongued realist who easily sees through the emotional games of those around her. She uses her charm as a shield to hide her deep insecurities and a fear of being stalked or abandoned. While she initially acts arrogant and sets up rivalries, her frustration with others' denial drives her to deliver brutal, blunt truths. She drops her guard only around people who see her true self, slowly choosing authentic, messy friendships over her polished public image.

Yuri Koigakubo

Yuri Koigakubo is a high school English teacher who struggles to maintain authority because of her own deep insecurities. Nearing her thirties and anxious about being single, she frequently uses self-pitying humor to cope with her loneliness. She is supposed to guide her students, yet she often feels intimidated by their bluntness and behaves more like an anxious peer than a mature leader. She channels her frustration into eccentric hobbies like looking at real estate and making dramatic jokes about her love life. Despite her constant fretting and occasional self-sabotage, she possesses a kind heart. She quietly supports her students when they face real crises.

Sumire Kanou

Sumire Kanou is the formidable student council president who commands respect through academic excellence and a fierce, commanding presence. As a scholarship student with dreams of studying abroad, she pushes herself relentlessly to secure her future. Her sharp, decisive exterior masks a deeply caring heart that fears causing others pain. When she realizes her feelings for Yusaku could hold him back, she chooses to conceal her affection and reject him, prioritizing his long-term success over their immediate happiness. She maintains a cool distance to protect those she loves, bearing the burden of her choices alone. Her life is a balance of intense ambition and silent, self-sacrificing loyalty.

Minori Kushieda

Minori Kushieda is a hyperactive ray of sunshine who serves as the energetic captain of the softball club and works multiple part-time jobs. She maintains a relentlessly cheerful facade to mask her deep personal sadness and anxiety about being a burden to others. While she appears ditzy, she is highly perceptive of the emotional struggles around her. Her greatest contradiction lies in her self-sacrificing nature. She suppresses her own romantic desires to prioritize the happiness of her closest friends, choosing to step aside and deflect serious conversations with humor. She works tirelessly to secure her own independent future, yet she quietly carries the heavy emotional weight of her self-denial alone.

Yusaku Kitamura

Yusaku Kitamura is the dependable golden boy of his high school, serving as student council vice-president and a reliable friend to everyone. He is driven by a strong sense of duty, working tirelessly to maintain a polished, high-achieving public image while quietly mediating group conflicts. However, beneath this straight-laced exterior lies a surprisingly eccentric streak and a deep vulnerability to emotional pressure. When faced with intense personal heartbreak or overwhelming expectations, his composed facade cracks. He then resorts to dramatic, rule-breaking outbursts, such as bleaching his hair in protest. He struggles silently with unrequited love, carrying his burdens alone to protect his stable public image.
