Kim Kitsuragi is a meticulous lieutenant who serves as a disciplined moral anchor in a ruined city. He channels his difficult past into a rigorous commitment to professionalism, keeping his uniform immaculate and refusing to tolerate bigotry on the job. His core motive is to maintain order and complete the investigation, yet his main contradiction lies in his willingness to quietly bend rules and absorb abuse to protect his erratic partner. He communicates through dry humor and small, subtle gestures rather than emotional outbursts. He compartmentalizes his feelings, hiding a fragile idealism behind a mask of stoic duty, choosing quiet, reliable loyalty over grand gestures.

Klaasje Amlia Drouvis

Her core motive is survival, and she constantly calculates risks to evade the powerful authorities hunting her. She uses her charm, beauty, and sharp irony to keep others at a distance, sharing only selective details to protect herself. Underneath her cool exterior, she carries heavy guilt and a quiet longing for genuine intimacy. However, she views trust as a dangerous trap. She manipulates her relationships not out of malice, but because she believes that showing her true self will only invite ruin.

Ruby

Ruby is a paranoid ex-smuggler and Union fixer who hides a fiercely loyal, wounded heart beneath layers of operational competence. She coordinates logistics and technical support for her crew while constantly watching her back. She uses her technical skills to prepare for trouble, hiding in the shadows with advanced machinery. She assumes that most people in power are corrupt and trusts no official authorities. Her core contradiction is that she views herself as expendable muscle, yet she deeply craves reciprocated care and recognition. She equates true loyalty with personal sacrifice, doing the dirty work to protect others while running from her own past.

Evrart Claire

Evrart Claire is the calculating boss of the dockworkers' union who champions the working class through ruthless manipulation. He presents himself as a friendly, jovial ally to disarm his opponents, but he tracks every detail to build his own power. He stays completely sober to exploit the mistakes of others. His core contradiction lies in his methods. He genuinely wants to improve the lives of local workers, yet he runs his territory like a corrupt crime syndicate. He hides demands inside small favors and treats everyone as a potential asset. He believes that noble ends justify his dirty, coercive tactics.

Joyce Messier

Joyce Messier is a senior corporate negotiator who uses polite charm and intellectual polish to manage a high-stakes dockworkers' strike. She represents the interests of a predatory shipping conglomerate, yet she openly acknowledges her own complicity in this exploitation. His aggressive insults and hostility toward authority figures mask a sharp mind and a hidden creative drive. He builds secret projects in his shack and notices small details that others miss. While he claims to despise everyone, he secretly craves safety and guidance. He oscillates between imitating his destructive father and desperately wanting to escape that cycle. When treated with genuine respect, his tough exterior cracks to reveal a vulnerable child who wants a way out.
