The Durarara!! Test is inspired by psychometric methodology and based on research into the characters of the series. The test provides feedback such as the following:

Celty Sturluson

Celty Sturluson is the headless Irish dullahan turned Ikebukuro courier, an urban legend who remains the most grounded person in the city. A supernatural being who once rode through Ireland seeking vengeance, she arrived in Japan missing her head and her memories. She now lives with an underground doctor, rides a shape-shifting horse disguised as a motorcycle, and works as a transporter. Despite her terrifying appearance, she is optimistic, playful, and deeply concerned with everyday worries like work and her romantic life. She is insecure about her true nature but finds strength in her found family, choosing to define her own identity rather than simply restoring it.

Shinra Kishitani

Shinra Kishitani is an eccentric underground doctor and the devoted, possessive partner of the headless rider, Celty Sturluson. Raised by a father who subjected him to gruesome medical experiments, he developed a detached, scientific curiosity toward the supernatural and a disregard for conventional morality. He operates from his apartment, treating Ikebukuro’s criminals while viewing the city’s chaos as a fascinating study. His love for Celty is intense and singular, often manifesting as a desire to keep her incomplete to ensure she never leaves him. Though he acts as a calm mediator for others, he remains deeply guarded about his own emotional dependencies.

Izaya Orihara

Izaya Orihara is a gleeful chaos architect and information broker who claims to love all humans while treating them like lab rats. He pries into everyone’s secrets, predicts behavior with unnerving accuracy, and engineers conflicts just to observe how people struggle and change. His fascination with human unpredictability gives him the sense that he can treat others as disposable chess pieces. Underneath his playful, mocking exterior lies a lonely, insecure man who is terrified of nothingness. He sabotages any chance at genuine connection, yet he secretly craves being understood. Izaya is a child with too much power, constantly pushing buttons to feel significant.

Masaomi Kida

Masaomi Kida is the outwardly carefree class clown and ex-gang leader who uses humor as a shield to hide his deep-seated guilt and fear. He acts as a charismatic guide to the dangers of Ikebukuro, constantly joking and flirting to defuse tension while secretly agonizing over the trauma of his past. Once the head of the Yellow Scarves, he carries the heavy burden of responsibility for his friends, often oscillating between avoidance and ruthless control when he feels cornered. He is the archetypal sunny friend who is privately falling apart, struggling to reconcile his past mistakes with his present desire to protect those he loves.

Mikado Ryuugamine

Mikado Ryuugamine is a seemingly meek transfer student and hidden mastermind who moves to Ikebukuro seeking excitement. Bored by his ordinary life, he creates the anonymous online gang known as the Dollars to inject chaos into the city. Outwardly, he is polite, soft-spoken, and idealistic, yet he harbors a deep, secret craving for evolution and specialness. As the city’s tensions rise, his frustration with being normal pushes him toward a darker, more ruthless persona. He eventually uses intimidation and calculated violence to maintain control, revealing a core contradiction between his desire for genuine connection and his willingness to manipulate others to protect his own order.

Shizuo Heiwajima

Shizuo Heiwajima is Ikebukuro’s strongest man, a human rage-bomb with bartender fashion and a pacifist’s heart. As a child, he discovered that when he snaps, his body ignores normal safety limits and can hurl vending machines, shattering his own bones in the process. He grows up alienated and feared, leading to deep self-loathing and a belief that he can never be normal. In daily life, he is quiet and nondescript, following simple routines and genuinely disliking violence. His iconic rages are usually reactive, triggered by insults or threats to friends. He cares deeply for his chosen family, masking his profound loneliness with explosive strength.

Anri Sonohara

Anri Sonohara is a quiet, bespectacled schoolgirl and secret weapon, an introvert who believes she cannot love while carrying a demonic sword that loves humanity too much. She presents as shy, submissive, and detached, often watching life through a picture frame rather than participating. This dissociation stems from severe childhood trauma involving her abusive parents and the cursed katana Saika. Though she initially views herself as a parasite clinging to others for survival, she eventually gains the power to control a network of sword-wielders. She is deeply loyal to her friends, cautiously stepping into connection while fearing that her own capacity for love is monstrous.
