Alibaba Saluja

Alibaba Saluja is a conflicted idealist: a fallen prince who desperately wants to be a good leader but is haunted by cowardice, guilt, and past failure. Born as Balbadd’s illegitimate royal son, he experiences both palace education and the harsh reality of the slums. When first introduced, he is petty and scheming, yet his better nature quickly surfaces. He risks his life for others and tries to reform his kingdom through negotiation rather than war. He is ambitious yet self-deprecating, often oscillating between gold fever and genuine concern for the commoners. He struggles with imposter syndrome, fearing he is a fraud who cannot live up to his own expectations.

Sinbad

Sinbad is the charismatic world-changer: a once-enslaved prodigy who becomes High King of the Seven Seas, founder of Sindria, and later head of the International Alliance—while gradually compromising himself in the name of peace. A genius dungeon capturer with seven djinn and overwhelming power, he inspires near-universal admiration. His early life of poverty and military exploitation fuels a visceral hatred of inequality, driving his goal to create a fairer world. However, he is also manipulative, using diplomacy and secret deals to steer global politics. He personifies the tension between being a benevolent leader and a potential tyrant who believes his ends justify the means.

Kouen Ren

Kouen Ren is the imperial strategist: Kou’s first prince, commander of the Western Subjugation Army, and governor of Balbadd. He owns three djinn and pursues a vision of world unification under Kou to end war. Calm, serious, and studious, he combines formidable battlefield power with high intelligence and a deep sense of duty to his family and people. His philosophy is that utopia justifies the means, as he is willing to overwrite foreign cultures to impose order. He cares for his siblings and respects capable enemies, accepting exile after losing the civil war to prevent further chaos. He represents the technocratic leader.

Judar

Judar is the chaotic prodigy: an ice-magic Magi raised by Al-Thamen and installed as High Priest of the Kou Empire, who delights in war, mockery, and breaking things just to feel something. Abducted as a child when his parents were killed, he grows up inside the cult, falling into depravity so thoroughly that his Rukh turns black. On the surface, he is sadistic, arrogant, and flippant, dismissing peace as boring. Yet, his bravado hides severe insecurity and a desperate need for validation. He sabotages relationships and lacks a stable identity, constantly flailing for purpose until he finds a twisted sense of belonging in destruction.

Aladdin

Aladdin is a gentle seer-hero: a curious, all-loving child Magi sent from the Sacred Palace to guide this world and prevent a repeat of Alma Torran’s destruction. Outwardly he is playful, food-obsessed, and socially warm, wandering with his djinn Ugo and an insatiable hunger for friends and magical knowledge. In action, that warmth becomes principled empathy; he risks himself to free friends and enters dangerous academies to understand, not simply condemn, the systems he encounters. His hidden core is loneliness and survivor’s guilt, as he carries the burden of a destroyed world. He thinks hard before choosing sides, balancing idealism with brutal historical truth.
