Texhnolyze Test

The Texhnolyze Test is inspired by psychometric methodology and based on research into the characters of the anime series. The test provides feedback such as the following:

Ichise

Yoshii

Yoshii is a charismatic visitor from the surface who acts as a disruptive agent of radical freedom. He rejects societal rules and seeks to destabilize the underground city of Lux just to see how its factions react under pressure. Instead of using direct physical force, he prefers psychological games, manipulation, and quiet provocation. He hides his deeply cynical and nihilistic views behind a friendly, charming smile. He wants to test whether people can find true strength when they are stripped of all security. While he easily engages with others, he remains fundamentally detached and alone, chasing thrills to escape his own inner boredom.

Toyama

Toyama is an ambitious Organo member who acts as a charming, supportive guide while hiding a desperate drive for self-preservation. Haunted by a traumatic past, he climbs the ranks of Lux to escape his vulnerability and secure safety at any cost. He easily wins trust with his warm demeanor, yet his loyalty shifts whenever danger threatens his position. Under pressure, his friendly facade slips to reveal a ruthless survivor who will submit to powerful figures or abandon his allies to protect himself. He chooses compromise over conflict, ultimately sacrificing his humanity to avoid death, showing how trauma can twist the desire to survive into tragic betrayal.

Ran

Ran is a quiet, masked prophet who foresees the inevitable downfall of her decaying city. She wants to protect the people she cares about, but she feels entirely powerless to alter the dark future she visualizes. To cope with this heavy burden, she hides behind a pale mask and distances herself from the harsh realities of the world. She avoids direct conflict, choosing instead to guide others with cryptic warnings and subtle nudges. Her calm, silent exterior conceals a deep, quiet despair. She carries her worries in silence, isolated by a gift that makes her revered but never truly known by those around her.

Shinji

Shinji is the volatile young leader of the Racan gang who desperately wants to carve out a legacy in the decaying city of Lux. He acts as a bold, confrontational rebel, yet he secretly craves the respect and stability of the established authorities he fights. He wants to be a powerful figure like Keigo Onishi, but his youthful insecurity often leads him to start reckless street fights to prove his worth. He relies on his rowdy group of friends for validation, hiding his deep fear of insignificance behind loud bravado. Though he resists being told what to do, his desire for status makes him vulnerable in a harsh world.

Kano

Kano is the detached ruler of the elite Class who seeks to force humanity into its next stage of evolution. He acts as a cold mastermind, orchestrating massive technological changes from his high sanctuary while avoiding direct conflict. His core motive is to transcend the messy vulnerability of the human body, yet his grand vision of progress requires stripping people of their free will and turning them into hollow, mechanical shells. He prefers to manage others through complex systems and proxies rather than forming genuine relationships. Driven by a deep disgust for physical weakness, he pursues an intellectual ideal of perfection that ultimately isolates him from the very world he wishes to remake.

Onishi

Keigo Onishi is the level-headed leader of the Organo who sacrifices his own physical body to maintain order in a decaying underground city. He operates within a violent criminal syndicate, yet he acts with rare honor and a deep sense of civic duty. He constantly weighs long-term stability against immediate brutality, preferring careful negotiation over mindless violence. He listens to the needs of his community, mentoring younger followers by quiet example rather than outward affection. Beneath his composed, stoic exterior lies immense fatigue and loneliness. He carries the heavy burden of a collapsing world, ultimately risking everything to protect people who will never thank him.

Doc

Doc is a brilliant and exiled scientist who works as Lux's premier researcher of advanced prosthetic limbs. She is driven by a deep desire to prove her intellectual worth to the elite Class that cast her out. She maintains a cold, clinical, and highly sarcastic exterior. Yet, she secretly harbors a maternal instinct, forming a protective bond with her experimental subject, Ichise. She relies entirely on her technical achievements to define her identity. She prefers the company of machinery to human warmth. Ultimately, her fragile idealism makes her vulnerable. She risks losing her entire sense of purpose if her life's work is ignored by the world.
