He consistently prioritizes reasoned dialogue and avoidance over force. However, his commitment to pacifism is not born of weakness. When severe danger threatens those under his protection, he steps forward to fight with devastating ferocity. Pascal's deepest struggle is the overwhelming guilt he shoulders when sincere, well-meant efforts cannot shield his community from catastrophic tragedy.

2B

2B is a disciplined YoRHa combat android who conceals deep tenderness beneath a stoic military exterior. She approaches dangerous missions with steady composure, relying on her training and practical efficiency to resolve crises. She rarely speaks about her feelings, preferring to show care through immediate, decisive protection rather than emotional confessions. While she strictly obeys difficult orders and insists on keeping a professional distance, her aloof demeanor is a shield against profound personal grief. She bears the heavy emotional toll of repeated loss in silence, struggling to balance the rigid demands of duty with her quiet devotion to those she fights beside.

Eve

Eve is a powerful and impulsive machine twin whose life revolves entirely around devotion to his older brother, Adam. Rather than analyzing complex theories or questioning his existence, he prefers physical action, play, and simple companionship. He willingly accommodates his brother's intellectual ambitions, finding all the meaning he needs in protecting their bond. However, Eve's deep loyalty masks a fragile sense of self that cannot survive alone. When he suffers catastrophic loss, his protective nature instantly turns into explosive grief and blind fury. He struggles to imagine an identity apart from family, transforming personal heartbreak into unrestrained, total destruction.

Emil

Emil is an eccentric traveling merchant whose boisterous cheerfulness conceals centuries of accumulated grief and fractured memories. Roaming the ruined world in a motorized cart, he sells rare goods, sings playful songs, and approaches strangers with disarming warmth. Beneath his comical exterior lies the heavy burden of an ancient survivor who duplicated himself to protect Earth and gradually lost his original self in the process. Emil copes with profound loneliness by staying constantly in motion and distracting himself through trade and humor. He guards small keepsakes tied to lost companions, determined to preserve his bonds even when his own mind begins to unravel.

9S

9S is a brilliant YoRHa scanner android whose bright curiosity and emotional openness conceal a dangerous vulnerability to loss. Equipped for intelligence gathering and hacking rather than brute force, he approaches the world with genuine fascination and quick analytical wit. He actively seeks closeness with companions and longs for an ordinary, peaceful life alongside 2B. However, his relentless drive to investigate forbidden truths pulls him into existential dilemmas. When the people and certainties he relies on are stripped away, his investigative brilliance curdles into obsessive grief and isolating rage. He struggles between a deep capacity for affection and the self-destructive instinct to avenge what he has lost.

Adam

Adam is a cool-headed machine intellectual who seeks to understand extinct humanity by imitating its habits, studying its texts, and staging violent philosophical experiments. Articulate, patient, and intensely analytical, he approaches conflict not out of malice, but as an academic inquiry into emotion, purpose, and mortality. Beneath his composed and theatrical demeanor lies a deep existential longing for a purpose no machine network can provide. Although he acts as an older brother to Eve, his obsessive pursuit of knowledge often eclipses the warmth his brother seeks. He ultimately disconnects from his collective mind to experience true mortality, choosing fragile, finite truth over immortal isolation.
