HEXACO Personality Test

Based on the work of Michael C. Ashton, Ph.D. and Kibeom Lee, Ph.D.

The “Big Five” personality test is considered to be the gold standard in science. However, based on statistical analysis of the data, some researchers argue that the Big Five should be expanded to include a sixth trait (Honesty-Humility), so that the Big Five becomes the “Big Six” or HEXACO model of personality.

Although the HEXACO model is receiving growing support from scientists, the necessity of this sixth trait is still a matter of debate. While several studies have found support for the HEXACO model, its popularity within the scientific community is still far from universal. Both the Big Five and the HEXACO frameworks offer a strong scientific basis for examining individual differences and personality.

Unique among free-only HEXACO personality tests, this test will also give you your HEXACO dark side, as well as your HEXACO sociosexual variables.

Although all are designed to measure the Big Six (or HEXACO) traits, the IDR-B6-H© should not be confused with any instruments authored by Michael C. Ashton, Ph.D. or Kibeom Lee, Ph.D. However, all are personality tests (or inventories) for measuring traits within the Big Six, or HEXACO, system of personality.
