The IDR-MDT is based on the American Psychiatric Association’s diagnostic criteria and the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) depression screening tool. The IDR-MDT is not associated with any specific researchers in the field of psychopathology, or any affiliated research institutions.

The IDRlabs Multidimensional Depression Test was informed by the American Psychiatric Association’s diagnostic criteria for depression published in the DSM-5, as well as the widely used psychological instrument, the PHQ-9 developed by Spitzer, Williams, Kroenke, and colleagues. The PHQ-9 is a clinical instrument intended for use by qualified professionals and researchers. The present test is intended for educational and entertainment purposes only. IDRlabs International and the present IDRlabs Multidimensional Depression Test are independent from any of the above researchers, organizations, or their affiliated institutions.

The Multidimensional Depression Test is based on a well-known tool for the assessment of the psychological construct of depression.
